 Traditional signwriting with a paint brush has become a dying art. With the popularity of digitally printed signage rising, the call for old school brush work is becoming less and less. However, for some projects it is simply the best technique.

 Since expanded our services, we have made the decision to re-brand from Roxanne Grey to Grey and Grey.
 Considering a re-brand is a serious topic. There is a lot that goes into such a big decision. Starting with a new fresh blank page can be very exciting for us marketers, but it can also be very costly.
I have witnessed some awesome re-brands and been part of some exciting projects. I have been privileged to be in the inner sanctum to watch some wonderful results roll in. I have also watched some business owners waste massive amounts of money attempting re-brands for all the wrong reasons.  Remember these two old sayings?

As he explained what he meant, I was thrown back to high school with memories of my year 12 film and television teacher explaining the concept of framing.
 Generally most people have a basic idea of what they believe a graphic designer does. The list probably goes something like creating logos for businesses or brands, fixing or editing images using Photoshop and probably making magazine ads… correct? Well technically yes, graphic designers do in fact do all of these things, but they’re only a fraction of what makes up a much bigger picture.
Graphic design is everywhere - just look around! I can guarantee you’ve had some interaction with a graphic designer’s work - possibly before you even leave your house of a morning. Did you pick up a cereal box this morning? There’s a great example of graphic design!  In today’s digital world everything changes minute-by-minute, which can make it hard to decipher what’s worth the investment and what is not when it comes to your marketing. Buyers are consuming new information every single day, so how exactly do we capture and keep a buyer’s attention?
 Matter by Peter Sheahan, Julie Williamson PHD and Dom Thurbon is one of the best marketing and brand books for non-marketers that I have ever read. If you are a CEO, CFO, MD or business manager wanting to bring your marketing strategy in line with your business strategy, this is a great book for you!
 Vanilla is great for ice-cream, but not for branding.
I don't hate vanilla, in fact I love it! What I do hate is bland. Bland is simply not something you want to associate with your marketing activity. Whether you're working on your brand promise or brand delivery, there is no room for vanilla. EVER. |
