MIFNQ.

Grey and Grey case study.

The challenge.

Alison Fairleigh and Jeremy Audas from Mental Illness Fellowship NQ (MIFNQ) approached us with a very clear brief. They had drought assistance funding to work with men in western Queensland and deliver a message of suicide prevention. They knew they needed some out of the box thinking to engage their target market and deliver this delicate message.

Our solution.

Rugby League was chosen as the theme to weave our messages of resilience, storytelling and mateship. We produced 2 events; 1 in Charters Towers and 1 in Hughenden, and booked Shane Webcke and Murray Hurst as the big names to draw a crowd. In addition to delivering the mental health brief, we also used the events as local economic stimulus packages, engaging local businesses as suppliers for the events and during the promotion phase of the events. The events were a huge success with stories shared not just by the celebrities but by guests also. Guests went home with some great stories, and a gift bag full of goodies including fuel cards to use at locally owned businesses.

A message from Roxanne Grey.

Being trusted to do such important work was indeed an honour. This project will always have a special place in my heart as one of the proudest moments of my career.

Video production.

We worked with Finn Buckle to film and produce this wonderful video. By capturing the events, MIFNQ have record of what activity they have undertaken in outback Queensland, but also to demonstrate the capability of the organisation for future events.

Television advertisement.

We engaged Luke Taylor from Taylor Creative to produce the advertisement, bring the print artwork to life on the screen. We managed the booking through WIN and Imparja, reaching both markets in the lead up to the events.

Print advertising.

We managed the artwork production and media booking in the NQ Register. We chose this publication because it is very suited to the target market.

Event management.

We held two events in outback Queensland. One in Charters Towers on the 24th June 2016 and one in Hughenden on the 25th June 2016. Where possible, we engaged local community groups and businesses to invest as much of the event budget back into the local communities. The Hughenden event was attended by 109 people. As a percentage of population, if this event were to be held in Brisbane, it would be the equivalent of filling Suncorp Stadium more than 3 times!

Photo gallery.

A portfolio of photos was captured to document the event and activities. Dale Knuth was the local photographer hired in Charters Towers and Grey and Grey captured the shots in Hughenden. This gallery shows a sample of the photos that have been assembled to mark the occasion.

A few words from Alison.

"I recently had the pleasure of engaging Roxanne's services to plan and manage two major events in outback Queensland. Her professionalism and quality of service far exceeded my expectations, even though she had come highly recommended. Roxanne took the stress out of everything for me as the client and the success of the events was due largely to her attention to detail and quality marketing skills. I wouldn't hesitate in engaging her services again in the future."

- Alison Fairleigh, Manager, MIFNQ.
