Business Boost grants opening soon.

The next lot of small business grants from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training is opening soon. Grants of up to $15K are on offer for businesses that turnover between $300K - $600K per year.

Applications will open at 9am on Friday 30th July 2021. We expect these grants to go quickly!

If you are considering applying for one of these grants, we recommend you get ready now. All of the relevant information, including an application sample is available on the Queensland Government website.

This grant is for small businesses to get assistance with 3 main areas:

• Future planning
• Specialised and automated software
• Staff management, development and planning

The expected outcomes of the grants program are to:

• Boost turnover, profit, and employment
• Increase business confidence and skills
• Improve business resilience and survivability

To be eligible to apply, the business must (at the time of applying):

• Have fewer than 20 employees 
• Have an ABN and registered for GST
• Have a Queensland headquarters
• Have a turnover of between $300K - $600K in FY2021
• Have a publicly reachable web presence
• Have owners/directors that are not insolvent or undischarged bankrupt

The grant requires a contribution of at least 30% from the small business owner. There is a handy calculator on the Queensland Government website.
