With 30 June 2022 fast approaching, it's a great time to reflect on FY2022, and bring focus to FY2023. What will the next 12 months hold for you?
Whilst none of us have a crystal ball, defining goals, writing them down, and then reflecting on them as we work towards them, is seriously one of the most exciting concepts I witness in business.

12 months ago, I worked with clients to define goals including:
  • Increase turnover from $10 million p.a. to $20 million p.a.
  • Improve net profit by 80%
  • Improve tender strike rate
  • Complete merger
  • Take a Queensland brand to another 3 countries
  • Ramp up in-house manufacturing
  • Increase turnover from $6 million p.a. to $9 million p.a.
  • Improve in-house capability
  • Improve employee engagement
  • Increase revenue from $1 million p.a. to $2 million p.a.

And the thing is, every single team referred to above will achieve their goal by 30 June 2022 (some already have). Every single one of them. 

Did they all experience volatility during the height of the pandemic? Yes.

Did they miss goals and have to re-adjust plans during the pandemic? Yes.

Do they still deal with pandemic impacts today? Yes.

Do they keep on keeping on? Yes.

I am privileged to work with clients from a range of sectors, all with their head office in Queensland. So there are certainly some differences between them in terms of size, industry and certainly differences in leadership styles and personality. However, what is the same about every single one of them is their ability to see things for what they are, and what they can be. They define goals, chip away at them and get on with it. It's this special mix of pragmatism and optimism that I am constantly drawn to and grateful I get to work with such awesome folk.

Today I'm investing some time reflecting on FY2022 and defining my goals for FY2023.
